A Bit About Shruti

Supervised by Ektha Aggarwal, LCSW

As a South Asian therapist in Los Angeles woman who has experienced and witnessed the stigma around mental health,  I bring mindfulness and somatic tools to my clients to help them find balance and create the shifts that they need while exploring the pain that brought them to therapy in a meaningful, healing way.  By working both domestically and internationally in the humanitarian sector, I provide a compassionate and empowering environment for you to feel confident within your own skin and culture so you can break free from the societal expectations of who you should be.

Let’s learn who you really are.

Connecting with people and understanding your story has been a great passion for me. I am an AAPI woman of color and enjoy helping clients explore the societal, family and personal struggles that make them who they are.

As a trauma therapist, the goal of our therapeutic relationship is to create a safe environment for you to work through life challenges, heal intergenerational trauma, and confidently tap into your authentic self by shifting the voice of your inner critic.

As a Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT)  Associate from Antioch University, with a specialization in trauma. I  have been supporting people in achieving their life goals and breaking down intergenerational trauma. I am deeply passionate in raising my voice and helping you find your voice if you are struggling with emotional and behavioral challenges or mood disorders that may be heightened by your traumatic upbringing.

Your childhood may impact who you are today, and together, we can unpack the pains of intergenerational trauma and transform them to your personal power of intergenerational wisdom.

A Message To My Clients

Beginning therapy and the healing process can be scary. Mental health is as important as physical body health. Healing does not mean the experience never happened but that it no longer has a significant impact on you.

My goal as a South Asian therapist in Los Angeles is to guide you to practice self-compassion in the face of adversity, to understand your needs and culturally communicate them effectively, and create supportive boundaries within unhealthy relationships, and to engage in consistent self-care to thrive with your mental health. These skills will allow you to be self-sufficient, encourage you to develop health interpersonal and intrapersonal relationships, and heal from intergenerational trauma.

Like an archeological dig, the session is YOUR TIME to strengthen your relationship with yourself or others, rediscover your purpose, fall in love with yourself, heal from past pain, release thoughts or beliefs that controlled your mind, and quite negative self talk and fear. Let us work TOGETHER in helping you live YOUR ideal life.
